Overview

trojansnipe.xyz impersonates Trojan, presenting itself as an on-chain trading platform, to lure cryptocurrency users into connecting their wallets. PhishDestroy first identified it on 2026-09-11, two days after the domain was registered on 2026-09-09. The site is now dead, with DNS going inactive on 2026-09-18, and confirmed offline as of 2026-10-17.

How the scam works

The site presented itself under the page title "Trojan - The Ultimate On-Chain Trading Experience," mimicking the branding of a legitimate on-chain trading tool to establish credibility with active DeFi users. Visitors are prompted to connect their cryptocurrency wallets, at which point a drainer script requests broad token approvals or triggers malicious transactions. Once a victim signs, the drainer silently transfers tokens and assets out of the wallet without further interaction required.

Eight of 89 engines on VirusTotal flagged trojansnipe.xyz as malicious as of 2026-09-13, with detections from alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar, and Sophos.
