Overview

theroomemes.com presents itself as the official site for a meme token called Roo ($ROO), with the page title reading "Roo ($ROO) | Nobody knows what he is." PhishDestroy first identified it as a crypto wallet drainer on 2026-10-16, thirteen days after the domain was registered. The site remains fully live and serving content as of 2026-10-18, meaning it is actively capable of targeting victims right now.

How the scam works

Crypto wallet drainers disguise themselves as legitimate token projects or NFT mints and invite users to connect their Web3 wallets to claim tokens, mint assets or participate in a launch. Once a wallet is connected, the drainer prompts the user to sign one or more transactions that grant the attacker broad approval over the wallet's assets. Those approvals are then exploited to sweep tokens and NFTs to attacker-controlled addresses, often within seconds and without any further interaction from the victim.
