PhishDestroy threat report
theflarenetwork.net is an impersonation phishing page built to pass as the official site of Flare, presenting itself under the title "Flare: The blockchain for data". It targets people who hold Flare assets or follow the project and land on what looks like the genuine homepage. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-06. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11 and was still dead, with no active DNS, when last checked on 2026-10-19.
The domain adds a simple "the" to the brand name and swaps in a .net ending, so it reads naturally in a search result, ad or social post. The copied title and branding make the page look like the real project, which lowers a visitor's guard before the page makes its request. Fake Flare pages of this kind typically push a claim, airdrop, staking or "wallet sync" step that asks visitors to connect a wallet and sign transactions or enter a recovery phrase. Either action can hand control of the victim's tokens to the operators.
urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised both Flare Network branding and generic crypto lures on it. On 2026-09-07, 12 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. That is a modest share of engines, but the flags came from several unrelated vendors within a day of our detection. ScamSniffer lists it alongside PhishDestroy, Spamhaus DBL lists it as spam, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
The domain was registered on 2026-08-29 through Web Commerce Communications Limited dba WebNic.cc. It was flagged eight days later and dropped offline five days after that. That short, disposable lifespan is common for impersonation campaigns that rotate domains once they are blocked. Traffic was served through Cloudflare, Inc. (IP geolocated to CA), so the address shown belongs to the proxy rather than the operators' own server.
If you connected a wallet to this site, review and revoke any token approvals or permissions you granted, and move remaining funds to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you typed in a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer assets out immediately. Reach Flare only through bookmarked official channels, not search ads or links in messages. Defenders should block the domain, check proxy and DNS logs for past visits, and watch for new lookalike registrations built on the Flare name.
Full extracted values, their blockchain and collection source. An address found in page content does not establish who controls it.

A capture documents what was shown. A scanner result records that provider’s assessment at the time of its check. Neither a valid certificate nor a zero-detection result is a guarantee of safety.
