thecoussserguy.club was a phishing site that greeted visitors with a page titled "Verify you are human", posing as the routine bot check people pass through dozens of times a week. How the scam works
Fake human-verification screens work because visitors trust them and click through without thinking. Google Safe Browsing labels the domain as social engineering, the category it uses for deceptive phishing pages. On VirusTotal, 21 of 92 engines flagged it as of 2026-10-07. The flagging vendors include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data. Four AlienVault OTX pulses also reference it, which means other researchers tracked it independently, and the domain is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-02 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd., and PhishDestroy detected it 23 days later. That short gap is typical of disposable domains bought for a single campaign. Traffic was served through Cloudflare's network, with the address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server stayed hidden behind the proxy. The unusual .club name, with its misspelled "coussserguy", suggests a throwaway domain rather than a typo of any known service.
What to do
