Overview

strendusapp.mx is a gambling site flagged as fraudulent. It presents itself as the download page for a "Strendus App" and promises the best casino and betting app in Mexico for 2025. It targets Spanish-speaking bettors in Mexico who search for the Strendus brand and expect an official app. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-10-08, and the site was still live with its content intact when checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page title, "Descarga la Mejor App de Casino y Apuestas México 2025", pulls in visitors with a familiar casino name and an app download outside the official app stores. Fraudulent gambling fronts like this typically ask players to register, hand over personal and payment details, and fund an account. Withdrawals then stall behind verification steps, "release fees" or minimum-turnover rules. Victims stand to lose their deposits and any card or identity data they enter, and a sideloaded app can expose the device itself.

Evidence

Eight of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-11: ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and URLQuery. That count is modest, but the flags come from vendors with different detection methods. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category.
