PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

sparkdex.lol poses as SparkDEX, presenting itself as a decentralized exchange built on the Flare Network. It targets DeFi users who trade on Flare or are looking for legitimate DEX platforms in that ecosystem. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-27, just two days after the domain was registered, and as of 2026-10-19 the site remains fully live with active content.

How the scam works

The site's page title — 'SparkDEX - Best DEX on Flare Network | Flare Dex Trading Platform' — mimics a credible decentralized exchange to lure users into connecting their crypto wallets or depositing funds. Once a victim interacts with the platform, the fake exchange can drain connected wallets, harvest private keys or seed phrases, or simply pocket any deposited assets with no way to withdraw. Victims typically lose their entire deposited balance and any tokens accessible through a connected wallet.

Evidence

Four of 92 engines on VirusTotal flagged sparkdex.lol as malicious as of 2026-10-10, with detections from alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, and SOCRadar. While the detection count is relatively low, the site appears on three independent blocklists — PhishDestroy, MetaMask, and SEAL — and has generated four OTX threat intelligence pulses, collectively providing strong corroboration of the threat.

Infrastructure
