PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

sessclone.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as "SessClone: Claude Code usage and cost for your whole team". It borrows the Claude Code name to look like a team analytics service for developers and engineering leads who track spending on AI coding tools. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-30, and it was still online with live content on 2026-10-19. The title describes a team usage-tracking product, but we classify the site as impersonation phishing.

How the scam works

Impersonation sites like this rely on a familiar brand and a plausible business reason to collect access. A dashboard promising per-seat usage and cost reports gives a natural excuse to ask visitors to sign in, link an organization account, paste API keys or enter billing details. Anything submitted lets the operator take over accounts, run up charges on stolen keys or pivot into the victim's team environment.

Evidence

Eight of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-09: alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but it comes from vendors with independent detection pipelines. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's own, so users of those protections are already warned.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-09-24, only six days before PhishDestroy caught it. That is typical of a site built quickly for a campaign rather than an established product. It is hosted on Amazon.com, Inc. network space in the US. Its certificate was issued by Let's Encrypt, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site can be trusted.

What to do

If you signed in on this site, change that password immediately, enable or reset two-factor authentication, and end all active sessions on the real service. Revoke and reissue any API keys you pasted, then check usage and billing for unfamiliar activity. If you entered card details, contact your bank to block the card and dispute any charges you did not make. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, search logs for staff who visited it, and rotate credentials for anyone who did.
