PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

scanana.cc presents itself as "Scanana - AI Crypto Portfolio Tracker", a polished analytics tool for people who want to monitor their crypto holdings. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page that targets wallet users drawn in by the promise of AI-driven portfolio insights. We first flagged it on 2026-09-25. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

Portfolio trackers give a scam a natural reason to ask for wallet access, because the visitor expects to connect a wallet or import holdings before seeing any "analysis". An impersonation page uses that expectation to request a wallet connection, transaction signatures or, in cruder variants, a seed phrase presented as a sync or import step. Whatever the visitor approves or types in goes to the operators. That can mean token approvals that let them move funds later, or full control of the wallet if a recovery phrase is entered. The AI branding adds credibility and urgency without the site ever having to show a working product.

Evidence

Independent detection is still thin. On 2026-10-06, 4 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. Most security tools will therefore not warn a visitor yet. ScamSniffer, a blocklist focused on wallet-targeting scams, also lists the domain alongside PhishDestroy, which supports the crypto-phishing classification.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-09-17, eight days before PhishDestroy detected it, so the brand was launched quickly. It resolves to 170.75.167.55 on the Cogent Communications network, with the server located in Canada. The free, automatically issued Let's Encrypt certificate means the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

Do not connect a wallet to scanana.cc or type a recovery phrase into it. If you connected a wallet and signed anything, review and revoke the token approvals granted to unfamiliar contracts, and move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you are unsure what you signed. If you entered a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer funds to a new wallet created on a clean device right away. Security teams should block the domain and its hosting IP, and check proxy and DNS logs for users who visited it after 2026-09-17.
