PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ruenox.com is an impersonation phishing page built on the Gambler Scam kit. It posed as a crypto casino or betting platform to draw in cryptocurrency holders looking for gambling bonuses. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-11, five days after the domain was registered. The site has been offline since 2026-10-17, and its DNS was still inactive when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Gambler Scam kits copy the look of a legitimate crypto casino and usually hand visitors a promo code or welcome bonus that shows a large balance on a freshly created account. The balance is fake. When the player tries to cash out, the site demands a deposit first, presented as a verification payment, minimum deposit or unlock fee. Anything sent to that deposit address goes straight to the operators, and the promised winnings never arrive. The page carried no meaningful title, just an ellipsis, so the browser tab gave visitors nothing to go on.

Evidence

On 2026-09-20, 14 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and CyRadar. That is a strong count for a domain only two weeks old. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and tagged the content as a crypto scam. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. It also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and three AlienVault OTX pulses reference it.

Infrastructure

Detection came five days after the domain was registered through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, the quick launch typical of disposable scam domains that are expected to burn out fast. The site was served from 45.115.27.26 on the Contrust Solutions S.R.L. network in Germany. It went dark about five weeks after registration, a common lifespan for kits that rotate through new domains.

What to do

If you signed up on ruenox.com, do not send further deposits or fees, because no payment will release a balance that never existed. Keep your transaction hashes and the deposit addresses you were given, and report them to the exchange or wallet provider you paid from and to local cybercrime authorities. If you reused a password there, change it everywhere you used it. Be wary of anyone who later offers to recover your funds for a fee, since that is a common follow-up scam. Defenders should block the domain and IP 45.115.27.26 and watch for lookalike casino domains that use the same bonus-then-deposit flow.
