PhishDestroy threat report
qwlqlw.com is an impersonation phishing page dressed up as Blackwell's, the bookseller, under the page title "Blackwell's, books for life and for learning Blackwell's". It targets people shopping for books or study materials who expect to be on the retailer's real site. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-18. The site went offline on 2026-09-19, and its DNS was still inactive when we last checked on 2026-10-19.
The page copies the familiar Blackwell's name and tagline so that a visitor arriving from a link in an email, ad or message assumes they are on the genuine bookshop. A meaningless string like qwlqlw.com in the address bar is often the only sign that something is wrong. Retail impersonation pages of this kind typically ask the visitor to sign in or check out. Whatever account passwords, card numbers, billing addresses and email details the visitor types in go to the operators rather than the retailer.
Sixteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-19, the day after our first sighting. They include established vendors such as BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and G-Data, along with alphaMountain.ai, Chong Lua Dao and Ermes. Agreement across that many independent engines is solid backing for the impersonation verdict. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-02-17, about seven months before it was caught impersonating Blackwell's. A domain that sits unused for months before going live is a common way to slip past filters that distrust newly created domains. The site sat behind Cloudflare, with the edge address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. Its certificate came from Google Trust Services, so the padlock icon meant nothing about whether the site was genuine.
If you signed in on this page, change your Blackwell's password immediately, along with any other account that uses the same password, and turn on two-factor authentication where it is offered. If you entered card details, contact your bank to cancel the card and dispute any charges you do not recognise. Expect follow-up phishing to the email address you gave, and treat "order problem" or "payment failed" messages with suspicion. Defenders should block qwlqlw.com at DNS and proxy level and search mail logs for messages linking to it. Users who clicked should be prompted to reset their credentials.
