How the scam works
The page title, "papertrade - rewards date proposal," frames the lure as an official vote or announcement about when rewards will be paid out. Fake proposal pages of this kind usually ask visitors to connect a wallet to "vote" or "check eligibility." The victim is then prompted to sign a transaction or approval that hands token spending rights to the attacker. Once the signature is granted, the wallet can be emptied without any further action from the victim.
Evidence
Nine of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-16, including Netcraft, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Emsisoft, CRDF, alphaMountain.ai, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but it comes from several independent vendors. MetaMask and SEAL also list the domain, which matters most for users whose wallets check those blocklists. Spamhaus classifies it as DBL_PHISH, and four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.
