PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

proposal-cashmere-exchange.baby is an impersonation phishing page that copies the Cashmere project. It presents itself under the title "Cashmere - Autonomous Monetary Infrastructure" and targets crypto users who follow what looks like a governance proposal or exchange link. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-07. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still registered and online, but its content was no longer resolving.

How the scam works

The domain stacks three trust cues: the Cashmere brand, the word "proposal" to suggest a governance vote, and "exchange" to suggest a trading or swap feature. Pages built this way copy the real project's look and push the visitor to connect a wallet, sign a transaction or enter credentials. A transaction signed there can hand the operator control of tokens, and a recovery phrase typed there gives away the whole wallet. The victim believes they are voting or swapping on Cashmere, but they are acting on a site the project does not control.

Evidence

Six of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-11: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, which is typical for a domain only days old. The stronger signal comes from crypto-specific blocklists. MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL list it alongside PhishDestroy, and three AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-10-06, and PhishDestroy caught it the next day. That timeline points to a site built for a short campaign rather than a lasting presence. It sits behind Cloudflare (AS13335) on US-based edge infrastructure, which hides the real origin server. It uses a free, automated Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about legitimacy.

What to do

If you connected a wallet or signed anything on this domain, review and revoke its token approvals with a trusted approval checker, and move remaining funds to a fresh wallet if you approved unfamiliar spenders. If you typed a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer assets out immediately. If you entered a password, change it and turn on 2FA.
