Overview

play-drive.net presents itself as "Play-drive: Most Popular Online Crypto Casino Based on Blockchain" and courts people who gamble with cryptocurrency. PhishDestroy classifies it as a gambling site flagged as fraudulent, built on the kit we track as Gambler Scam. We first detected it on 2026-09-05. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving live content, so it can still take money from new visitors.

How the scam works

Gambler Scam sites copy the look of a real crypto casino, with game lobbies, live-looking winnings and generous bonuses. Players are pushed to deposit coins to a casino address, and the balance on screen may even grow. Withdrawals are where it breaks: requests stall, accounts get frozen, or new "verification" or "unlock" deposits are demanded before any payout. Everything sent in, including those extra fees, should be treated as gone, because the casino exists only to collect deposits.

Evidence

The classification is backed by several independent sources. On VirusTotal, 8 of 89 engines flagged the domain at the 2026-09-13 check: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Ermes, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Kaspersky, SOCRadar and Sophos. That is a modest count, but the vendors are varied and well known. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and matched it to generic crypto and crypto-scam patterns. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category, MetaMask and SEAL block it alongside PhishDestroy, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-05-07 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, about four months before it reached our blocklist. That gap fits a site that had time to collect players before being caught. It sits behind Cloudflare on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. Its Let's Encrypt certificate only means the padlock appears in the browser. It says nothing about whether the casino is legitimate.

What to do

Do not deposit anything more, and ignore any demand for a fee, tax or verification payment to release winnings, because none will arrive. Write down your deposit transaction hashes and the casino's receiving addresses, then report them to your exchange and to local police or a fraud authority. If you connected a wallet to the site, check what you signed and revoke any token approvals it requested. If you registered with an email and password, change that password wherever you reused it. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for lookalike casino domains using the same branding.
