outdoorgearplhot.com is an impersonation phishing site. Its name, with the garbled tail "plhot", is built to pass for an outdoor gear retailer in a quick glance at a link or ad. It targets online shoppers who believe they are on a legitimate store. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-17, and it was still online behind a protective challenge when last checked on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Impersonation pages of this kind borrow the look and feel of a real retailer and push visitors toward a login, checkout or account form. Whatever is typed there, such as email and password, card number, billing address or a one-time code, goes straight to the operators. Victims typically lose account access, face fraudulent card charges, or pay for goods that never arrive. The domain was registered on 2025-06-10 through Spaceship, Inc., more than a year before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests a name that was either held in reserve or used quietly before it turned up in phishing traffic. It resolves to Cloudflare's network in the US, which hides the real origin server and serves the challenge page visitors see first. Its certificate comes from Google Trust Services (WE1), so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the shop is genuine.
