PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

okcnn.com poses as OKCoin USA, the American arm of the OKCoin crypto exchange, under the page title "OKCoin USA — Professional Gold". The short domain is easy to mistake for the real brand at a glance, and it targets crypto traders who believe they are signing in to or funding a legitimate exchange account. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-08. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

Exchange impersonation pages copy a trusted brand's look so visitors hand over what they would normally give only to the real platform. That usually means account email and password, one-time 2FA codes, or a deposit sent to an address the operators control. The "Professional Gold" wording points to a premium or gold-tier trading pitch, a common hook for persuading victims to fund an account. Stolen credentials can be used to empty real OKCoin balances, and funds sent to the fake site cannot be recovered.

Evidence

On 2026-10-08, 9 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Vendors including Kaspersky, BitDefender, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Gridinsoft and Lionic independently classified it as malicious. The count is modest but spans several unrelated security companies. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users and crypto security teams are already being warned away from it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-06-30 through Cloudflare, Inc., about 100 days before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the operators held it in reserve or ran it quietly before it came to attention. The site sits behind Cloudflare's network, with the address geolocating to Canada, so the true origin server is hidden. It holds a valid Google Trust Services certificate, which means browsers show the usual padlock. A padlock only confirms an encrypted connection, not a genuine site.

What to do

If you entered OKCoin credentials on this site, change your password on the real exchange immediately, reset 2FA, sign out all active sessions and review your withdrawal addresses and recent activity. Use the same password anywhere else? Change it there too. If you sent a deposit or paid any fee here, contact the genuine OKCoin support and your bank or card issuer, and report the transaction to local cybercrime authorities. Defenders should block okcnn.com at DNS and proxy level and watch for similar OKCoin lookalike domains.
