PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

my-fumbledbags.com is an impersonation phishing page that presented itself as "Bags Fumbled — See what you left on the table," a lure built for crypto traders who regret selling too early or missing a pump. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-25. The site has been offline since 2026-09-29, and its DNS was still inactive when we checked again on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page title plays on trader regret by promising to reveal the gains a visitor "left on the table." Lures like this usually ask visitors to connect a wallet or enter account details to run the check. That connection is the real goal. A fake checker can push a signature or token approval that lets the operator move assets. It can also collect credentials or seed phrases typed into a bogus form. Victims lose whatever the approval or exposed secret controls, not just the small sum the checker claimed to show.

Evidence

On 2026-09-27, VirusTotal showed 11 of 91 engines flagging the domain. They include crypto-focused ChainPatrol along with BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. The domain is also on the MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL blocklists as well as PhishDestroy's. Those are the lists that wallets and Web3 security tools check before a user connects. Four AlienVault OTX pulses reference it, so other researchers tracked the same campaign independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-05 through Global Domain Group LLC, 20 days before PhishDestroy detected it. Its whole visible life, from registration to going offline, lasted under four weeks, which is typical of short-lived crypto lures. The site sat behind Cloudflare's network, with the address geolocated to Canada, so the true origin server stays hidden. Its TLS certificate came from Google Trust Services, so the padlock icon said nothing about whether the site could be trusted.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, review and revoke any token approvals or permissions granted around the time of your visit. Move remaining funds to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. Anyone who typed a seed phrase or private key should treat that wallet as compromised and empty it into a new one at once. If you reused a password there, change it everywhere and turn on two-factor authentication. Defenders should block the domain and look for similar "fumbled bags" or missed-gains themed domains.
