PhishDestroy threat report
modolix.store presents itself as "GameGen Pro - Free Game Resources Generator" and promises players free in-game currency and items. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at gamers, particularly younger players hoping to skip paying for in-game purchases. We first flagged it on 2026-09-05, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.
Generator sites like this ask for a game username and the amount of currency wanted. They then show a fake progress screen that stalls at a "verification" step. To finish, the victim is pushed to sign in with their game or platform credentials, hand over personal details, or complete offers and app installs that earn the operator money. No resources are ever delivered. What the victim loses is access to their gaming account, any items or balances tied to it, and potentially other accounts that share the same password.
On 2026-10-19, VirusTotal showed 4 of 92 engines flagging the domain: CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a small share, so many browsers and security products will still let the page load without a warning. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tied it to malicious activity independently. Among blocklists, it is currently listed by PhishDestroy.
The domain was registered through NameCheap, Inc. on 2025-12-24, more than eight months before we detected it. The site runs on the KnownSRV Ltd. network, which is registered in Great Britain, while the server itself sits in the Netherlands. A long gap between registration and detection usually means the domain was either held in reserve or operated quietly before it drew attention.
Do not enter any username, password or personal details on this site, and do not install any app or complete any offer it suggests. If you already signed in through it, change that password right away, along with any other account that uses the same one, then turn on two-factor authentication and check your inventory and recent logins for activity you don't recognize. Parents should talk with children about "free currency" generators, since these scams target them heavily. Security teams should block modolix.store at DNS and web proxies and add the GameGen Pro lure to their awareness material.
