How the scam works
Mystery-box giveaway schemes promise high-value electronics in exchange for a small fee to open a box, claim a prize or cover shipping. The victim is asked for card details, a crypto deposit or personal information such as a name, address and phone number. The promised tech does not arrive, and the payment details or deposit stay with the operators. The page title names no specific brand, while our classification is impersonation, based on the giveaway kit the site runs.
Evidence
Six of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain when it was checked on 2026-09-12: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Ermes, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a low count, but it comes from six unrelated vendors using different detection methods. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tracked it independently. PhishDestroy lists it on its own blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-05-25 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, about three months before we detected it. That gap fits a domain that sat quietly or ran for a while before drawing attention. It resolves to Cloudflare, Inc. address space geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server stays hidden behind Cloudflare's proxy. The Let's Encrypt certificate only provides the padlock icon and says nothing about whether the site is trustworthy.
What to do
If you paid a box, shipping or claim fee by card, contact your bank now to dispute the charge and ask for a replacement card. If you sent cryptocurrency, record the transaction ID and report it to the exchange or wallet service you sent from. If you gave your address or phone number, expect follow-up "prize" calls, texts and emails, and do not pay any further fees to release a reward.
