PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

minihungary.eu is an impersonation phishing page written in Hungarian and pitched at local gamblers. Its title translates to "The Best Hungarian Online Casinos in 2025 | Complete Guide." The page is presented as a ranking and review site rather than as a copy of one named brand. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-12, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content. The title shows a casino affiliate guide, while our classification places the site in the impersonation category.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages borrow the look and authority of something people already trust. Here that is an independent "complete guide" to casinos, used to push visitors toward sign-ups and payments they would otherwise question. Readers are steered through recommendation links or registration prompts into handing over account credentials, personal details or card data, or into funding casino balances. The losses are deposits that cannot be withdrawn and stolen payment details. Credentials also get reused, so other accounts that share the same password are at risk.

Evidence

On 2026-10-12, VirusTotal showed 12 of 92 engines flagging the domain, among them BitDefender, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai, ADMINUSLabs, CyRadar and the Vietnamese anti-scam project Chong Lua Dao. Twelve hits is a modest share, but it comes from several unrelated vendors that reached the same conclusion on their own. The domain also appears in 30 AlienVault OTX pulses, which means other researchers have been tracking it. Among public blocklists, only PhishDestroy currently lists it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through INWX GmbH, a German registrar, under the .eu namespace. That gives a Hungarian-language page a European look. Traffic is served through Cloudflare from an address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server is hidden behind the proxy. The Google Trust Services certificate is a routine automated one and only means the connection is encrypted, not that the site is trustworthy.

What to do

If you deposited money through a casino recommended on this page, contact your bank or card issuer and dispute the charges. Ignore any later request for "verification" or "tax" fees to release winnings, because paying them only adds to the loss. If you created an account or typed in a password, change it everywhere you reuse it and turn on two-factor authentication. Keep an eye on your card statements for unfamiliar charges. Defenders should block minihungary.eu at DNS and proxy level and report abuse to Cloudflare so the origin can be traced.
