PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

live-ledgr-desktops.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Its hostname is a misspelled play on a Ledger Live desktop download, which points at hardware-wallet owners looking for the companion app. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-08. The site has been offline since 2026-09-17 and was still dead with its content blocked by the provider at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page now shows the title "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is Cloudflare's own warning screen, while we classify the site as an impersonation phishing page. Lookalike desktop-wallet pages like this usually offer a fake download or a fake "sync" or "restore" step. The victim is pushed to type a 24-word recovery phrase or run a tampered installer. Either one gives the operator full control of the wallet, and funds can be swept with no way to reverse the transfers.

Evidence

On 2026-09-18, 14 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They included BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CyRadar and alphaMountain.ai, a spread of independent vendors rather than a single outlier. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and matched a generic Cloudflare brand signature. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, which means wallet-focused defenders reached the same conclusion on their own.

Infrastructure

The pages.dev subdomain was created on 2026-08-06, about a month before PhishDestroy detected it, so the operator had it ready ahead of the campaign. It ran on Cloudflare's network from an address geolocated to Canada. Free static-hosting subdomains like this cost nothing and can be replaced quickly. After the provider took this one down, the same lure can reappear under a new name.

What to do

If you typed a recovery phrase into this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet on your device with a fresh seed and move any remaining funds there immediately. If you downloaded and ran anything from it, disconnect the machine, remove the file and run a full malware scan before you use any wallet on that computer again. If you connected a browser wallet, review and revoke token approvals you do not recognise. Only get Ledger software from the vendor's official site, and remember that no legitimate app ever asks for your seed phrase. Defenders should block the domain, watch for similar pages.dev names that misspell "ledger", and report new copies to the hosting provider.
