PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

live-ledgers-uss.pages.dev is a phishing page that impersonated Ledger, the hardware wallet maker, to target people who keep crypto on Ledger devices. The subdomain name strings together "live" and "ledgers" to suggest an official Ledger Live portal. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-08. The site has been offline since 2026-09-17, with its content blocked by the hosting provider, and it was still dead at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger portals usually claim the visitor's device needs an urgent update, a sync or a security check. They then ask for the 24-word recovery phrase. Ledger never asks for that phrase online, and anyone who types it into such a page hands over full control of every wallet derived from it. The attacker can then sweep the funds without ever touching the physical device. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the provider's warning screen rather than the original Ledger lure we classified.

Evidence

Seventeen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-18, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Emsisoft, CyRadar and alphaMountain.ai. That is a solid spread of independent vendors for a short-lived throwaway subdomain. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict, and its brand match of a generic Cloudflare page reflects the block screen that replaced the lure. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's own.

Infrastructure

The subdomain was created on 2026-08-29, only ten days before PhishDestroy detected it, and it lasted about nine more days before going dark. It sat on Cloudflare Pages, a free static hosting service, and resolved to Cloudflare's network with a Canadian location. Its Google Trust Services certificate was issued automatically by the platform, so the padlock showed only that the connection was encrypted. It said nothing about who ran the site.

What to do

If you entered your Ledger recovery phrase on this page, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up a new seed on your device, or on a fresh one, and move any remaining funds to it immediately. Never reuse the old phrase. Remember that genuine Ledger software and support never request the 24 words, so any site that does is a scam. Defenders should block the domain, watch for similar pages.dev subdomains built around Ledger branding, and report new ones to the hosting provider for fast takedown.
