PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

live-ledger-apps-en.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page posing as Ledger, the hardware wallet maker. It targets Ledger owners looking for the Ledger Live app. The name chains "live", "ledger", "apps" and "en" so it reads like an official English download portal. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-08. It has been offline since 2026-09-17 after the hosting provider blocked it, and it was still dead at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger portals usually offer a counterfeit Ledger Live download or a "wallet sync" or "firmware update" prompt. That prompt asks for the 24-word recovery phrase. A real Ledger never asks for that phrase on a website or in an app. Anyone who types it in hands over full control of every account the device secures, and the attackers can empty the wallet from their own hardware. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is Cloudflare's warning screen and not the original Ledger-themed content we classified.

Evidence

Seventeen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-18. They include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Emsisoft, CyRadar and alphaMountain.ai. That is broad agreement among established vendors for a short-lived subdomain. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict, and the only brand it matched was Cloudflare's own interstitial. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users are protected in several places at once.

Infrastructure

The site ran as a Cloudflare Pages project created on 2026-08-02, about five weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. Free subdomains on a trusted platform let operators launch quickly, inherit a clean reputation and get automatic HTTPS. Here the certificate came from Google Trust Services. Traffic resolved to Cloudflare's network with a Canadian geolocation. Cloudflare itself took the content down roughly nine days after detection.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Reset your Ledger or set up a new device with a fresh phrase, then move any remaining funds to it at once, because the attackers can act at any moment. If you installed software from this page, uninstall it, run a malware scan, and get Ledger Live only through Ledger's official channels. If you connected a software wallet, review and revoke token approvals as well. Defenders should block the domain and watch for sibling pages.dev subdomains that combine "ledger" with words like "live" or "apps".
