PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledgr-desktop-people.pages.dev is a phishing site that PhishDestroy classifies as impersonation, with Cloudflare as the imitated brand. Its subdomain spells "ledgr-desktop", and crypto-focused blocklists picked it up, so it was likely pitched at people looking for desktop wallet software. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-08. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16, and the provider had blocked its content as of 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages borrow a trusted name and look so visitors lower their guard. They then push the visitor to download a fake application, sign in, or type wallet details into a form the operator controls. The page now carries the title "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the hosting provider's warning page rather than the original lure, while our classification is Cloudflare impersonation phishing. For a wallet-themed lure, the usual loss is a recovery phrase or a malicious installer, either of which gives the attacker control of the funds.

Evidence

Fourteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the site as of 2026-09-18. They include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai and CyRadar. That is a solid cross-vendor consensus for a short-lived free-hosting page. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and detected generic Cloudflare branding. Besides PhishDestroy, the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists list the domain, and both focus specifically on threats to crypto users.

Infrastructure

The subdomain was created on Cloudflare Pages on 2026-08-20, 19 days before PhishDestroy detected it. It ran for only about a week after that before going dark. It resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. network space geolocated to Canada, the standard setup for any pages.dev project. Free, instantly provisioned static hosting like this lets an operator launch a lure under a credible-looking hostname with almost no cost or traceable footprint.

What to do

If you downloaded software from this site, uninstall it, scan the machine, and treat any wallet used on that device as exposed. If you typed a recovery phrase or private key, create a new wallet on a clean device and move your remaining funds there right away. Get wallet software only from the vendor's official site, and never enter a seed phrase into a web page. Defenders should block the hostname and add the brand-plus-"desktop" naming pattern on pages.dev to their monitoring rules.
