PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledgerlive-desktop-get.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page that imitates Ledger. Its name is built to look like a place to get the Ledger Live desktop app, which targets people setting up or reinstalling software for a Ledger hardware wallet. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-31. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11 after the hosting provider blocked its content, and it was still dead when rechecked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger Live download pages usually take one of two routes. They either push a tampered installer, or they show a screen claiming the wallet needs recovery or syncing and ask for the 24-word recovery phrase. Anyone who types that phrase into a website or unofficial app hands over full control of the wallet, and the funds can be swept to the attacker at any time. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the provider's warning page and not the original Ledger lure we classified.

Evidence

13 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-11. The flagging vendors include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. That is a minority of engines, but the vendors are unrelated to one another. urlscan.io rated the page malicious, although its brand matching picked up only the generic Cloudflare warning. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so separate crypto-security teams reached the same conclusion.

Infrastructure

The site was hosted as a Cloudflare Pages project created on 2025-10-06, roughly eleven months before PhishDestroy detected it on 2026-08-31. Free pages.dev subdomains let an operator choose a brand-heavy name like this one without registering a separate domain. Traffic resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure located in Canada. The same provider later replaced the content with its phishing block page.

What to do

If you entered your Ledger recovery phrase on this page or in software downloaded from it, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up a fresh seed on a reset device and move any remaining funds to it immediately. If you installed anything from the site, uninstall it, run a full malware scan, and download Ledger Live only through Ledger's official channels. Remember that Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase. Defenders should block the domain, watch for similar pages.dev subdomains that use Ledger branding, and report new ones to the hosting provider.
