PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledger-com-portel.pages.dev is a credential phishing page impersonating Ledger, aimed at owners of Ledger hardware wallets and users of the Ledger Live app. It carried the title "Ledger Live Login: Secure Access & Wallet" and used a misspelled "portel" in its address to suggest an official Ledger portal. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-01. The site went offline on 2026-09-13, its content is now blocked by the hosting provider, and it was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page presents itself as a secure login for Ledger Live, but the real Ledger Live is a desktop and mobile app with no web sign-in. Pages like this ask visitors to "log in" or "verify" their wallet, typically by typing in account details or the 24-word recovery phrase. Anything entered goes straight to the operators. A recovery phrase gives them full control of the wallet, so they can empty it from any device without ever touching the physical Ledger.

Evidence

On 2026-09-13, 12 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai and LevelBlue. That is a solid cross-section of established security vendors reaching the same conclusion independently. urlscan.io rated the page malicious. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users with those protections enabled were warned before they could reach it.

Infrastructure

The site ran as a free Cloudflare Pages deployment created on 2026-08-15, which gave it an ordinary-looking pages.dev subdomain. That was 17 days before PhishDestroy detected it. Traffic was served through Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada. The provider has since blocked the content, which matches its offline status.

What to do

If you typed your 24-word recovery phrase on this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a fresh wallet with a new phrase and move any remaining funds there immediately. Ledger will never ask for your phrase online. If you entered an email address or password, change that password everywhere you reused it and turn on app-based two-factor authentication. Security teams should block the domain and watch for lookalike Ledger subdomains on free hosting platforms.
