PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledger--live---run.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page posing as Ledger. The repeated 'ledger' and 'live' in the name point to Ledger Live, the companion app for Ledger hardware wallets, so its targets are people who hold crypto on those devices. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-01. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11, and on our last check, 2026-10-19, it was still dead with its content blocked by the hosting provider.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger Live pages usually present a fake 'update', 'sync' or 'device verification' step and ask the visitor to type in their 24-word recovery phrase. Ledger itself never asks for that phrase online. Anyone who has it can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty every account it controls, without needing the physical Ledger. The page title now reads 'Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare', which is the provider's warning interstitial, not Ledger branding. That title differs from our classification of the site as a Ledger impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-09-13, 10 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Ermes, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Kaspersky. That is a modest share of engines, but it spans several unrelated security vendors. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and matched the Ledger brand on it. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, both maintained by crypto-focused security teams.

Infrastructure

The site is a free Cloudflare Pages project created on 2026-08-01, about a month before PhishDestroy flagged it. Free subdomains like this cost nothing and can be replaced in minutes, which is why Ledger lures keep reappearing under similar names. It resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure geolocated in Canada. Cloudflare's own block is what took the content down.

What to do

If you typed your Ledger recovery phrase into this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up a new seed on a reset or new device, then move any remaining funds there immediately. Also review and revoke token approvals linked to the old addresses. If you only browsed the page and entered nothing, no action is needed beyond avoiding similar links. Install and update Ledger Live only from Ledger's official channels. Defenders should block lookalike Ledger subdomains on free hosting platforms and add this domain to mail and web filters.
