Overview

kraken-darknet-ssilka.ru is an impersonation phishing page built around the Kraken name. Its Russian page title, "Официальное зеркало Kraken Onion через Tor. Безопасный вход.", translates to "Official Kraken Onion mirror via Tor. Secure login." The domain itself reads as "kraken darknet link," so it targets Russian-speaking users who search the open web for a working Kraken onion address. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-25, and it was still online with live content on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Sites like this one exploit the fact that onion services are hard to find. Users therefore search for "mirrors" and trust whatever ranks well. The page claims to be the official, secure entry point and presents a login form. Anything typed into it, including usernames, passwords and any codes, goes to the operators. They can use those details to take over the real account, empty any balance held there, or push the victim toward a fake deposit page that pays the scammers directly.

Evidence

On 2026-10-07, VirusTotal showed 7 of 92 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, so many browsers and filters will still let it load. Spamhaus lists it in its DBL as a phishing domain, which is significant because many mail and DNS filters use that list. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it, and it is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-03-26 through RU-CENTER, roughly six months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests a domain kept in reserve or quietly built up for search traffic before it drew attention. It resolves to Cloudflare, Inc. address space geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server is hidden behind Cloudflare's proxy. The padlock comes from a free Let's Encrypt certificate, which only encrypts the connection and says nothing about whether the "secure login" claim is true.

What to do

If you entered credentials on this page, change the password on the genuine account immediately. Change it anywhere else you reused it, and reset any two-factor setup you may have exposed. Do not deposit funds or follow payment instructions shown after logging in, and treat any balance displayed there as fake. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, add it to mail filtering, and report it to Cloudflare and RU-CENTER with the page title as evidence.
