PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

instanderhub.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as the official download source for Instander, a modified Instagram client for Android. Its page title reads "Instander APK v19.0 Latest Version Download For Android (Official)". It targets Android users looking for the app outside the Play Store. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-10-16, and the site was still online and serving content on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Lookalike download hubs borrow the name and branding of a popular modded app and claim to be the official source. This lets them hand visitors an APK file that the real developers never built or checked. A sideloaded package installed from such a site can carry modifications that harvest data or push unwanted software. Instander-style clients also ask for an Instagram login, so a tampered build can capture account credentials and session access. Victims risk losing control of their Instagram account and exposing whatever data the installed app can reach on their phone.

How do phishing scams typically work?

  • pig butchering — TelegramやWhatsApp、出会い系アプリを通じて数週間にわたって信頼関係を築き、その後、金銭をだまし取られる
