PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ent-ledger-walet.pages.dev is a phishing page that impersonates Ledger, the hardware wallet maker, and targets people who own or manage a Ledger device. The misspelled "walet" in the subdomain is meant to slip past a quick glance. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-26. The site has been offline since 2026-09-01 after Cloudflare blocked the content, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger pages usually claim the visitor's device needs a sync, firmware fix or security check. They then ask for the 24-word recovery phrase, the one secret Ledger never requests. Anyone who types those words in hands over full control of every account derived from that phrase. The attacker can then drain the funds from any device, and no transaction confirmation on the hardware wallet is needed. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the provider's warning interstitial rather than Ledger-branded content, while PhishDestroy classifies the site as Ledger impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-09-02, VirusTotal showed 15 of 91 engines flagging the address. The vendors included BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CyRadar and Ermes, a spread of independent engines rather than a single outlier. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. The site also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users and crypto security responders have flagged it separately.

Infrastructure

The page sat on Cloudflare Pages, Cloudflare's free static hosting, and resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. address space geolocated to Canada. The registration date tied to it is 2025-10-11, roughly ten months before PhishDestroy detected it. Its Google Trust Services certificate was issued automatically by the platform, so the padlock said nothing about legitimacy. Free hosting under a trusted parent domain lets operators publish lookalike pages quickly and abandon them once blocked.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new device or a freshly generated phrase immediately and move any remaining assets to it before the attacker does. Never reuse the exposed phrase. If you only visited and typed nothing, no action is needed, but remember that Ledger never asks for your 24 words on any website. Defenders should block the domain and watch for similar misspelled Ledger subdomains on free hosting platforms. Report any new copies to the hosting provider.
