PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

dappdashboard.online is an impersonation phishing page that presented itself as "Home | Dapps Leading Synthetic Protocol". It mimicked a DeFi dashboard for synthetic assets, aimed at crypto users who expect to connect a wallet and manage positions. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-17. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11, and as of 2026-10-19 its DNS no longer resolves.

How the scam works

Fake dapp dashboards like this copy the look and wording of a legitimate DeFi protocol, then ask the visitor to connect a wallet to view balances, claim rewards or open a synthetic position. The connection is the bait. The real goal is the transaction or signature request that follows, which can grant the operator token approvals, transfer assets directly, or approve an off-chain permit that hands over spending rights. Anyone who signs can lose whatever tokens those approvals cover. The losses usually happen quietly, sometimes well after the visit.

Evidence

The classification is backed by four independent wallet-security blocklists. MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL all list the domain alongside PhishDestroy, and wallet-focused feeds like these block sites that target signing and approvals. On VirusTotal, 12 of 91 engines flagged it as of 2026-08-25, including BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and Ermes. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers tracked it independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-08-09, only eight days before PhishDestroy caught it. That short gap fits a throwaway domain built for a brief campaign. Traffic ran through Cloudflare's network on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the true origin server. The site carried a free, automatically issued Google Trust Services certificate, so the browser padlock only meant the connection was encrypted, not that the site was legitimate.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, check which approvals and permissions you granted while there and revoke any you don't recognize using a token-approval checker. If you signed any transaction or message, move the remaining assets to a fresh wallet, because some approvals and permits stay valid after the site is gone. Never enter a seed phrase into any dashboard. Defenders should keep the domain blocked even though it no longer resolves, since kits like this often return on new lookalike domains. They should also watch for similar "synthetic protocol" dashboard names.
