PhishDestroy threat report
coppermingle.shop is an impersonation phishing page that mimics the Zoom client update portal. It targets Zoom users by presenting a fake “Zoom Client Update” page. PhishDestroy first recorded the domain on 2026-10-19. The site is still alive as of 2026-10-19.
The page pretends to be a legitimate Zoom client update, prompting visitors to download an installer or enter Zoom credentials. Attackers capture login details or deliver malware that can hijack the victim’s Zoom account and potentially spread to other services. By exploiting users’ expectation of timely updates, the scam steals authentication data that can be used for account takeover.
VirusTotal flagged coppermingle.shop in 5 of 92 scanning engines, with vendors such as Abusix, alphaMountain.ai, DNS8, Fortinet and PrecisionSec labeling it malicious. The domain appears on PhishDestroy and PhishFeed blocklists and is listed as DBL_SPAM by Spamhaus. Open Threat Exchange reports four pulses referencing the same impersonation campaign. These independent detections corroborate the classification as a Zoom impersonation phishing page.
coppermingle.shop was registered on 2026-10-07 through Spaceship, Inc., giving the operators just under two weeks before PhishDestroy first observed the site. The site is hosted on a French server (IP 31.56.228.129) within the AS56971 Cloud network. TLS is provided by Let’s Encrypt (YE1), indicating the use of a free, automated certificate. The rapid registration and modest hosting footprint suggest a low‑cost, short‑lived phishing operation.
Anyone who entered Zoom credentials or installed the offered file should immediately change their Zoom password and enable two‑factor authentication, then review and revoke any unknown devices or sessions. Do not run any downloaded executables from the site. Security teams should block coppermingle.shop at the DNS and web‑proxy level, add it to internal phishing blocklists, and monitor for other domains using the same Zoom “Client Update” theme. Keep endpoint protection signatures up to date to catch any malware delivered through the fake installer.
