PhishDestroy threat report
This Netlify-hosted page poses as CoinMarketCap under the title "CoinMarketCap Community Listing Vote". It targets crypto users who expect CoinMarketCap's community features to let them back a token or influence its ranking. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-08. As of 2026-10-19 the host still responds, but its root page serves no content, so the lure may now sit on a deeper path or be switched off for now.
A fake "listing vote" gives people a reason to act fast: support your favourite project before voting closes. Pages like this usually ask the visitor to connect a wallet or verify ownership to cast a vote. That step is where the theft happens. The victim is prompted to sign a transaction or token approval that hands spending rights to the attacker, or is asked to type in a seed phrase. Either way the wallet can be emptied, and CoinMarketCap itself never asks for any of this to vote or browse.
Six of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the site as of 2026-09-16: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Sophos, VIPRE and Webroot. That is a modest share, so many generic scanners will still let the page through. The stronger signal comes from crypto-specific defenses. MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL all list it alongside PhishDestroy, which means wallet-level warnings should appear for users of those protections.
The site runs on a free Netlify subdomain. A throwaway hostname like this costs nothing and can be swapped quickly if one gets blocked. It resolves to Amazon.com, Inc. infrastructure in Germany. Its DigiCert certificate is the platform's standard TLS, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the page is legitimate.
If you connected a wallet here, open a token-approval manager and revoke any permissions you don't recognize, starting with recent approvals. Move remaining funds to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you didn't understand. If you entered a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer assets to a new seed right away. Only use CoinMarketCap through its official app or a bookmarked address. Security teams should block this hostname, watch for similar Netlify subdomains using CoinMarketCap voting or listing lures, and report new variants to the hosting platform.
