PhishDestroy threat report
coinbse-extesnsion.framer.website is a Coinbase impersonation phishing page built on Framer's free site hosting. Its misspelled name, "coinbse-extesnsion," is meant to pass for an official Coinbase browser extension. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-17. The site has been offline since 2026-09-22 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.
Lures that pose as a Coinbase extension usually send users to a page offering a fake wallet extension or an "update" or "verification" step. The goal is to get the victim to type in a recovery phrase or login details, or to install software the attacker controls. Anyone who hands over a recovery phrase can lose the whole wallet, because the attacker can restore it on their own device and empty it. The page now shows the title "Site Not Found | Framer," which is Framer's default page for a removed site. The Coinbase impersonation classification comes from what scanners found while the page was live.
14 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-21. They include ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Ermes, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data, a mix of crypto-focused and general security vendors. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and identified Coinbase as the imitated brand. The domain is also on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, so wallet users running those protections get a warning before the page loads.
The 2021-11-19 registration date and the registrar, CSC Corporate Domains, Inc., belong to the framer.website parent domain that all Framer sites share. They say nothing about when the scammer set up this subdomain. The operator rented a free subdomain on a legitimate builder rather than buying their own domain, which makes setup fast and disposable. Traffic was served from Amazon.com, Inc. infrastructure in the Netherlands, which is Framer's hosting rather than anything the attacker chose.
If you entered a recovery phrase on this page, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet on a trusted device and move any remaining funds to it right away. If you installed anything the page offered, remove it, scan your machine, and only reinstall Coinbase software from Coinbase's official channels. If you connected a wallet, review and revoke any token approvals you don't recognize. If you entered Coinbase login details, change your password and reset 2FA. Defenders should block this hostname, watch for other misspelled Coinbase subdomains on website-builder platforms, and report new ones to the hosting platform.
