PhishDestroy threat report
bitrcfill.com copies Bitrefill, the service that sells gift cards, mobile top-ups and eSIMs for cryptocurrency. It swaps a single letter, an "e" for a "c", so the name passes a quick glance in a search result or the address bar. The page presented itself as "Bitrefill (Singapore) - Buy Gift Cards, eSIM" to Bitrefill's customers. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-15, and the site has been offline since 2026-10-19, with its DNS no longer resolving.
Lookalike storefronts like this rely on users who mistype the brand name or click a sponsored or shared link, then shop as if they were on the real Bitrefill. Payments go to addresses the operators control, so a gift card or eSIM is never delivered and the crypto cannot be recovered. Clones of this kind often also show a fake sign-in or wallet prompt to collect account passwords, one-time codes or recovery phrases, which lets the operators take over the victim's account or wallet.
When VirusTotal scanned the domain on 2026-10-15, none of its 92 engines flagged it. This is common for a site caught on the day it went live, and it is why the zero score should not reassure anyone. The domain is listed by the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, which means warnings reach wallet users directly. Spamhaus lists it in its DBL as spam, and it appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
The domain was registered through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED on 2026-10-15, the same day we detected it. This points to a short-lived site built for one quick campaign. It was hosted on the FEMO IT Solutions network, a UK-registered provider, at an address located in Germany. A free Let's Encrypt certificate gave it the browser padlock, which only shows the connection is encrypted and says nothing about who runs the site.
If you paid for anything on bitrcfill.com, treat the crypto as sent to scammers and report the transaction to your wallet provider or exchange. If you entered Bitrefill login details or codes, change the password on the genuine Bitrefill account right away and reset two-factor authentication. If you typed a recovery phrase, move your funds to a new wallet with a fresh phrase. In future, reach Bitrefill only through a saved bookmark. Security teams should block bitrcfill.com and watch for other one-letter variants of the Bitrefill name.
