PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

binance-ud.com posed as the official Binance website for Chinese-speaking crypto traders. Its page title translates roughly to "Binance Official Site, the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange, secure trading for a new era of digital wealth." PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-05. The site has been offline since 2026-09-19 and was still unreachable when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Phishing pages of this kind copy an exchange's branding closely enough that a visitor believes they are on the real platform. They then capture whatever the victim enters, such as email, password, one-time 2FA codes or verification details. With those, attackers can sign in to the genuine account and move funds out. The "ud" suffix is meant to pass for an official regional or support domain. urlscan.io also identified Coinbase branding on the site, so the same operation may have targeted users of both exchanges.

Evidence

Fourteen of 89 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious in a 2026-09-11 check. The flagging vendors included BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CyRadar and Google Safe Browsing. Google Safe Browsing classed it as social engineering, which triggers browser warnings for most users, and urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. The domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers tracked it independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-05-11 through Fewmoretaps OU, which trades as Trustname.com. That was almost four months before PhishDestroy detected it, a gap that suggests it was registered in advance rather than spun up the day of a campaign. Traffic was routed through Cloudflare, Inc. on an address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server stayed hidden behind the proxy.

What to do

If you typed your Binance or Coinbase login into this site, change that password right away from the official app. Also change it on any other service where you reused it. Next, reset 2FA, review active sessions and API keys, and check for new withdrawal addresses or whitelist changes. If you see unauthorized withdrawals, contact the exchange's support through the official app immediately. Security teams should block the domain, search mail and proxy logs for visits before 2026-09-19, and treat any credentials seen in that traffic as compromised.
