How the scam works
Fake artist shops copy the look of real merch stores, then use steep discounts or limited-edition stock to push shoppers through checkout quickly. The buyer enters a name, address and card details and pays. The goods then never arrive, or a cheap item unrelated to the order shows up. The victim loses the purchase price, and the card and personal details entered at checkout can be reused for further fraud or targeted phishing.
