bencraft.shop is a fake online store built to look like Benchmade, the premium knife maker. Its page is titled "Knives | Discover Premium Knives & Cutlery | Benchmade", aimed at collectors and outdoor buyers hunting for discounted high-end blades. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-13 as an e-commerce scam. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its shop content.
How the scam works
Fake brand shops copy a real manufacturer's catalogue, photos and wording, then list the products at prices well below retail to push quick purchases. The buyer enters a delivery address, contact details and card information at checkout. The usual outcomes are that nothing arrives, a cheap counterfeit is shipped instead, or the card details are reused for further charges. A name like "bencraft" sits close enough to Benchmade that a shopper arriving from an ad or search result may not notice it is not the official store.
Evidence
Sixteen of 92 VirusTotal engines flag the domain, including ESET, BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Emsisoft, CRDF, CyRadar and alphaMountain.ai. Several independent vendors reaching the same verdict on the same day as our detection, 2026-10-13, makes a false positive unlikely. urlscan.io rates the site malicious and specifically marks it as a fake shop. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers are tracking it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-05-27, about four and a half months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap leaves room for the domain to have been prepared or rotated into use some time after registration. The site is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia, far from where Benchmade sells its products.
What to do
If you paid on bencraft.shop, contact your card issuer or bank immediately, report the transaction as fraud and ask for a chargeback. Request a replacement card if you entered full card details, and watch your statements for unfamiliar charges. Be wary of follow-up emails or texts about "shipping problems" or refunds, because the scammers now have your contact details and address. Buy Benchmade products only through the manufacturer or authorized dealers. Security teams should block the domain and its hosting IP and add it to web filters and ad-abuse reports.
