How the scam works
Fake fashion stores like "Aura Ofertas" advertise branded or trendy clothing at steep markdowns, often with countdown timers and "limited stock" banners that push visitors to buy quickly. At checkout the shopper hands over payment details and personal information such as name, address and phone number. The usual outcome is that nothing ships, a cheap item unrelated to the order arrives, or the tracking number leads nowhere. Victims lose the purchase price and may face further fraudulent charges on the card they used.
Evidence
On 2026-10-08, 12 of 92 VirusTotal engines rated the domain malicious, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. That is a modest share of engines, but the vendors come from several independent security companies. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and specifically identified the page as a fake shop. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a spam domain, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-05-17, nearly five months before PhishDestroy detected it, so the shop may have been taking orders for some time before it was caught. It is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia. The site uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the store is legitimate.
What to do
