PhishDestroy threat report
apps-metamsk-get.framer.website is an impersonation phishing page aimed at MetaMask users. It was built as a subdomain on Framer's website builder, and its name misspells the brand as "metamsk" while promising an app download. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-17. It went offline on 2026-09-22 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.
Fake wallet download pages catch people who search for MetaMask or follow a shared link and assume a polished page is genuine. Schemes of this type usually end in one of three traps: a form asking for the 12- or 24-word recovery phrase, a tampered installer posing as MetaMask, or a wallet-connect prompt that grants a drainer permission to move tokens. Any of these can hand an attacker full control of the wallet and everything in it. The page title now reads "Site Not Found | Framer", while PhishDestroy classifies the hostname as MetaMask impersonation phishing.
On 2026-09-23, 4 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the hostname: ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and Forcepoint ThreatSeeker. That count is low, but ChainPatrol specializes in Web3 threats, so its verdict carries weight here. Stronger confirmation comes from the blocklists: MetaMask's own list and the SEAL list both include the hostname alongside PhishDestroy. When the impersonated brand blocks a page itself, the classification is hard to dispute.
The 2021-11-19 registration date and the CSC Corporate Domains, Inc. registrar belong to Framer's shared parent domain, not to the operator, who only needed a subdomain on a reputable builder. Traffic was served from Amazon.com, Inc. infrastructure in the Netherlands. The Let's Encrypt certificate was issued automatically, so the browser padlock said nothing about who ran the page. It lasted about five days after PhishDestroy first saw it before going dark.
If you typed your recovery phrase into this page, treat the wallet as compromised: create a new wallet with a fresh phrase and move any remaining funds immediately. If you downloaded anything from it, delete it, run a full malware scan and reinstall MetaMask only through your browser's official extension store or the official app store listing. If you connected a wallet, revoke token approvals granted around that time using a trusted approval checker. Defenders should block the full hostname, watch for misspelled MetaMask subdomains on site-builder platforms, and report new ones to the builder and to MetaMask.
