PhishDestroy threat report
amatteroflaw.com.au is an impersonation phishing site that presents itself under the name "A Matter of Law" to win the trust of people expecting a legitimate legal practice. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-25. As of 2026-10-19 the site is still online and its content is live. The page title, "Home - A Matter of Law", reads like an ordinary firm homepage, while our classification of the site is impersonation phishing.
Impersonation pages borrow a familiar name and an ordinary-looking layout so visitors lower their guard. Once trust is established, the page or follow-up contact asks for something of value, such as login credentials, identity documents, personal details or a payment. A legal-services front lends weight to requests for sensitive paperwork or urgent fees. The victim can lose account access, personal data that enables further fraud, and any money sent.
On 2026-10-07, 17 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, Certego, CRDF and CyRadar. That is a substantial share of engines, and it comes from established vendors working independently of each other. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. AlienVault OTX references it in five threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it as well. PhishDestroy also carries it on its blocklist.
The domain was registered through Web Address Registration Pty Ltd. It resolves to 163.47.73.97 on the Dreamscape Networks Limited network in Australia, which matches its .com.au address and local appearance. Its TLS certificate is a domain-validated certificate from Sectigo. That kind of certificate only confirms control of the domain, so the padlock says nothing about who actually runs the site.
If you submitted a password on this site, change it immediately and turn on two-factor authentication wherever that password was reused. If you uploaded identity documents or personal details, watch for identity misuse and consider alerting the relevant issuing bodies. If you paid any fee, contact your bank or card provider right away to dispute the charge. If you need a law firm, verify its contact details through official professional registers before you share anything. Defenders should block the domain and its IP at the DNS and proxy layers, and search mail and web logs for any contact with it since 2026-09-25.

Google PageSpeed Insights — mobile performance audit of amatteroflaw.com.au · checked Sep 25, 2026
An estimated time describes an observation window. It does not prove a registrar action or the exact moment a site became unavailable.
Dated changes retained by the monitor and source collectors. Newest observations appear first; source states are not proof of a takedown.

This report combines saved page captures, registration and network records, scanner results and PhishDestroy reporting history. Each source keeps its own observation date. Open a source report to inspect the original result.
The AI-assisted analysis was written on . It describes the evidence available at that time; later source checks can change.
A capture documents what was shown. A scanner result records that provider’s assessment at the time of its check. Neither a valid certificate nor a zero-detection result is a guarantee of safety.
