Once a victim interacts with the platform, the fake exchange can drain connected wallets, harvest private keys or seed phrases, or simply pocket any deposited assets with no way to withdraw. Victims typically lose their entire deposited balance and any tokens accessible through a connected wallet.

Four of 92 engines on VirusTotal flagged sparkdex.lol as malicious as of 2026-10-10, with detections from alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, and SOCRadar. It is hosted behind Cloudflare's network with a Canadian-geolocated IP and uses a Let's Encrypt TLS certificate, a common combination that lends a superficial appearance of legitimacy.
