PhishDestroy threat report
safepas.bond is a fraudulent website posing as a legitimate cryptocurrency trading platform under the CME Group brand, one of the world's most recognized derivatives and futures exchanges. It targets retail crypto traders and wallet holders who may trust the CME Group name and be drawn in by promises of low fees and high liquidity. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-15, just two days after the domain was registered, and as of 2026-10-19 the site remains fully live and active.
The site presents itself as a decentralized trading platform branded as CME Group, exploiting the credibility of a well-known financial institution to attract victims. Fake exchanges of this type typically lure users into creating accounts, depositing cryptocurrency, and sometimes completing fabricated KYC steps, after which withdrawals are blocked or funds are simply taken. Victims may also be prompted to connect external wallets or enter private keys and seed phrases under the guise of account verification or fund transfer, surrendering direct control of their assets. The end result is total loss of any deposited cryptocurrency with no recourse.
Six of 89 engines on VirusTotal flagged safepas.bond as malicious as of 2026-09-24, with detections from alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, and SOCRadar. Spamhaus classifies it as DBL_PHISH on its Domain Block List, and it has accumulated four threat pulses on OTX. The domain appears on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask, and SEAL blocklists, providing independent corroboration across multiple security ecosystems.
The domain was registered on 2026-09-13 through GLOBAL ASSET DOMAINS INC and was active within days. It is hosted on Cloudflare's network with a Canadian-associated IP address, and its TLS certificate was issued by Let's Encrypt under the YE1 authority, a free and automated service that provides no identity verification.
If you visited safepas.bond and entered login credentials or personal information, treat those credentials as compromised and change them immediately on any service where they are reused. If you deposited cryptocurrency, contact your exchange or wallet provider at once, as recovery is unlikely but speed matters. If you connected a wallet, revoke all token approvals immediately using a trusted approval management tool and consider moving remaining funds to a new wallet address. Security teams and platform operators should block safepas.bond at the DNS and network level and add it to internal threat feeds.
