How the scam works
Impersonation pages like this one dress up as a familiar publication so their claims feel credible. A typical lure is a fabricated article or endorsement that steers the reader toward a sign-up form, an investment pitch or a crypto opportunity. The "PONS NEWS" branding exists to lower suspicion before that hand-off. Victims usually lose the personal details, login credentials or payment information they enter. If the page pushes them into a scheme, they can also lose the money they send.
Evidence
On 2026-09-29, six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. The site resolves to 216.198.79.1 on Amazon.com, Inc. infrastructure in the US. Its HTTPS certificate comes from Google Trust Services (WR1), so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is honest.
