PhishDestroy threat report
caixadirctacgd.app is an impersonation phishing page. Its name is a slightly misspelled run-together of "Caixa Directa CGD", the online banking brand of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, so its likely targets are that bank's customers. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-05. On 2026-10-19 the site still responded as alive, but its content DNS was inactive. The page carried the title "Full Gallery", which does not match a banking login, while we classified the domain as impersonation.
Bank-impersonation pages like this are usually reached through SMS or email lures warning about a blocked account, a pending payment or a security check. The page copies the bank's login flow and asks for the access code, password and often the one-time codes sent by SMS or the banking app. With those, criminals can sign in, approve transfers or add new payees before the victim notices. The loss is direct: account access, card details and money moved out in real time.
On 2026-09-18, 13 of 89 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious. That is a meaningful minority, and the flagging vendors include ADMINUSLabs, alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. Spamhaus lists it in its domain blocklist with the phishing category DBL_PHISH. It appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy blocklists it.
The domain was registered on 2025-09-03 through Web Commerce Communications Limited dba WebNic.cc, about a year before PhishDestroy detected it. Domains that sit unused that long are often staged in advance and only switched on for a campaign. It is hosted at 216.120.147.200 on the CHEAPY-HOST network in the United States, which is an inexpensive shared-hosting setup that can be replaced quickly.
If you entered your Caixa Directa credentials or any SMS code on this site, contact Caixa Geral de Depósitos immediately through the number on your card or the official app. Ask them to block online access and review recent transfers and payees. Change your access code, check your statements for unfamiliar movements, and treat any follow-up call or message claiming to be the bank as suspect. Never share one-time codes with anyone. Defenders should block the domain and its IP at DNS, proxy and mail gateways, and search logs and SMS gateway records for clicks to it.
