How the scam works
Fake shops like this copy a real brand's look and product catalogue, then lure buyers with discounts on popular items. The shopper adds controllers to a cart and pays at checkout, often by card or direct transfer. The money goes to the operators, and the order arrives as nothing, a cheap substitute, or a tracking number that never moves. The checkout form also captures names, addresses, phone numbers and card details that can be reused for further fraud.
Evidence
On VirusTotal, 6 of 92 engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-16: alphaMountain.ai, ESET, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue, Netcraft and Webroot. That is a modest share, but it includes established web-threat vendors, which is typical for a young fake shop. urlscan.io rates the site malicious and specifically identifies it as a fake shop. The domain appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. Among the major blocklists, only PhishDestroy currently lists it.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-03-15 through Spaceship, Inc., about seven months before PhishDestroy flagged it. That gap suggests the operators either held the name in reserve or ran the shop for some time before it drew attention. It is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia, which has no connection to 8BitDo. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a padlock in the browser, which proves nothing about the seller's legitimacy.
