How the scam works
Shops like this copy a real brand's name and product range, then list the goods at prices well below normal retail to push quick purchases. At checkout, buyers are usually steered toward payment methods that are hard to reverse, and the order either never arrives or is replaced by something worthless. Victims lose the purchase price. They also hand over their name, delivery address, email and often card details, which can be reused for further fraud.
Evidence
On 2026-10-07, eight of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but it comes from several unrelated vendors. urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically identified it as a fake shop, which independently supports our classification. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-04-11, about six months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the domain was held back or used quietly before being exposed. The site is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in the United States, not in Germany, even though it poses as a German company. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a browser padlock, but the padlock only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the seller is genuine.
What to do
If you paid on this site, contact your bank or card issuer right away to dispute the charge and ask for a chargeback, and keep your order confirmation and any emails as evidence. If you entered card details, have the card blocked and reissued. Watch for follow-up emails posing as Atera or delivery companies, and reset any password you reused on the site. Anyone wanting genuine Atera products should buy through Atera's official channels or known retailers. Security teams should block the domain, add the hosting IP to watchlists and look for lookalike shop domains that use the Atera name.
