PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

usdc037.com is an impersonation phishing site whose name borrows the USDC stablecoin brand, with a number tacked on so it passes as an official-looking regional or campaign address. It targets people who hold or trade stablecoins and might trust a page that appears tied to USDC. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. The site went offline on 2026-10-14 and its content was blocked at the provider level, which was still the case on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Sites like this rely on a familiar crypto brand to make a visitor comfortable acting fast. Typical lures include claiming a reward, verifying a balance or "activating" an account. These steps end with the victim connecting a wallet and signing a transaction, typing in a seed phrase, or sending funds to the operator. Any of these can hand over stablecoins and other tokens with no way to reverse it. The page itself carried the title "onkeyon," which names no brand, while our classification rests on the domain's impersonation of USDC.

Evidence

Independent coverage is thin. On VirusTotal, only one of 92 engines (LevelBlue) flagged the domain when it was checked on 2026-10-13. Most security tools would therefore have let a visitor through. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference the domain, so other researchers have tracked it too. Among blocklists, PhishDestroy currently lists it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-12-29 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd., about nine months before it was detected. That suggests the name was bought early and held until a campaign needed it. Traffic ran through Cloudflare, with the address geolocating to Canada, so the real origin server stays hidden behind the proxy. The site had a valid certificate from Google Trust Services, so the browser padlock said nothing about whether the page was legitimate.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions you granted. Move remaining funds to a new wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you entered a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer the assets right away. If you sent USDC or other tokens, keep the transaction hashes and report them to the issuer and any exchange involved. Defenders should block the domain and look for similar numbered USDC-themed names from the same registration pattern in DNS and proxy logs.
