Overview

trustbancorpfin.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as "Trust Bancorp Finance", a bank promising the "most secured and reliable e-banking you can trust to invest, save and earn." It targets people looking for an online bank or a savings and investment account, and anyone persuaded to open one. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-08. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

Fake online banks like this copy the look and language of real financial institutions to win trust. Visitors are encouraged to register, sign in and deposit money into a supposed savings or investment account. Along the way they hand over personal details, identity documents and login credentials. Displayed balances or "earnings" exist only on the page, so money sent to the operators is lost. Requests for further fees or "verification" payments before any withdrawal are a common way to extract even more.

Evidence

When VirusTotal scanned the domain on 2026-10-12, 8 of 92 engines flagged it: alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, Sophos and desenmascara.me. That is a minority of engines, but it includes several major security vendors, so the classification does not rest on a single source. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, meaning other researchers have tracked it independently. Among the blocklists in our feed, it is currently listed by PhishDestroy.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-07 through TuringSign Inc. d/b/a Cosmotown, and PhishDestroy flagged it the next day. A brand-new domain claiming to be an established, trustworthy bank is a strong warning sign on its own. The site is hosted in the United States on the PONYNET network of FranTech Solutions. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the bank is real.

What to do

Do not open an account, deposit funds or pay any fee to release a balance on this site. If you sent money, contact your bank or card issuer immediately to attempt a recall or chargeback, and report the fraud to local police or your national fraud reporting service. If you entered a password, change it everywhere you reused it and enable two-factor authentication. If you uploaded ID documents, watch for identity misuse. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP and alert staff and customers to fake banking brands built on newly registered domains.
