PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-15. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content, so anyone who meets it now faces the same live threat.
How the scam works
The page carries the bland title "Home - samunae", which names no brand, while our classification is impersonation of a trusted service. Sites like this copy the look and wording of a real platform and wait for victims to arrive through ads, messages or search results. A familiar layout encourages visitors to sign in, submit identity details or follow payment instructions. Whatever is entered goes straight to the operators, who can use it to take over accounts or redirect funds.
Evidence
On 2026-09-25, 17 of 91 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious. That is a clear signal for a site this new. Flagging vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and the Vietnamese anti-scam group Chong Lua Dao. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means multiple researchers have independently tied it to malicious activity. It is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through NAMECHEAP INC on 2026-07-16, about two months before we detected it. That gap is typical of a site set up shortly before a campaign starts. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, Inc., with the address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server is hidden behind the proxy. Its TLS certificate comes from Google Trust Services (WE1). Such certificates are issued automatically, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is honest.
What to do
If you typed a password on samunae.com, change it right away on the genuine service and on any other account that uses the same password. Then turn on app-based two-factor authentication. If you entered card or bank details, contact your bank to block the card and dispute any charges. Watch for follow-up phishing that uses the personal details you submitted. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and web proxies, search logs for visits since 2026-07-16, and reset credentials for any user who reached the site.
