robinhoodl.com is a phishing page posing as Robinhood, the commission-free trading app. It targets people who hold stocks or crypto there. The name is "robinhood" with a single extra "l", a typo that is easy to miss in a link or a search ad. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-11. As of 2026-10-19 the site still responded, but its DNS was no longer serving the phishing content.
How the scam works
The page carries Robinhood's own title, "Robinhood: Commission-Free Stock Trading & Investing", so the browser tab and search snippets look genuine. Visitors are pushed to sign in, and whatever they type goes to the operators, not Robinhood. That includes email, password and often the one-time 2FA code. With a live session, attackers can sell positions and withdraw cash or crypto before the owner notices. They can also change account security settings to lock the owner out.
Evidence
Eighteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-20. Among them are crypto-focused ChainPatrol and Chong Lua Dao, plus BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and CyRadar. Google Safe Browsing lists it as SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, and Spamhaus DBL lists it as a phishing domain. It also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses. Several independent vendors reached the same verdict.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Name.com, Inc. on 2026-08-29, just 13 days before PhishDestroy flagged it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains. It was hosted at 216.198.79.1 on Amazon's network in the United States. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page a padlock, but the padlock only means the connection is encrypted, not that the site belongs to Robinhood.
What to do
If you entered your Robinhood login here, change your password right away from the official app. Reset two-factor authentication and sign out of all other sessions. Check recent orders, withdrawals, linked bank accounts and the account email or phone for changes, and report anything unfamiliar to Robinhood support. If you reused the password elsewhere, change it there too, and watch for follow-up calls or texts pretending to be Robinhood. Defenders should block the domain and the IP above, and look for similar one-letter variants of the Robinhood name.
